Boise-based sculptor Delia Dante unveils Warrior Women, a new series celebrating the strength and resilience of women through the creation of intricate, metaphorical warrior helmets.
The one-night opening at Hemmings Gallery will showcase the first two works in the series—one honoring Mariel Hemingway, and another representing the artist herself. Each piece reflects Dante’s fusion of traditional metalsmithing and contemporary techniques, including TIG welding, enameling, electroforming, 3D printing, and leatherwork.
The series was inspired by a powerful realization: women are seldom portrayed in sculpture as warriors, especially in ways that reflect their modern courage and contributions. Warrior Women seeks to change that narrative, with each helmet representing how remarkable women “go into battle” in their own lives.
This opening marks the beginning of an ongoing project that will feature other influential women from diverse fields—an evolving tribute to female strength and creativity.
