Jessica Larsen featured artist | Delia Dante Gallery

Jessica Larsen was born in rural Idaho. She is currently still living and producing work in her country studio.

Intrigued by time, memory and nostalgia, Larsen works intuitively to create work that invokes the recollection of memory through abstraction and material. Larsen, also a trained woodworker, blends her skills as a craftsperson with her formal and painterly aesthetic to create contemporary pieces. Using humble mediums, such as homebuilding and homemaking supplies, Larsen is aestheticizing the ordinary and commonplace materials that surround us. The mixed media artworks are invitations from the artist to hold space for the allure that exists within the inconspicuous and overlooked details.

Larsen recently graduated with an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno. She received her BFA from Boise State University and obtained an Associates of Applied Science degree in Woodworking and Cabinetry from the College of Southern Idaho. Larsen teaches Woodworking and CNC Milling at her alma mater, the College of Southern Idaho. She takes pride in serving her community by offering community education courses and has recently started volunteering her time as a board member of the Magic Valley Art Council. Her work has been featured in the Arts to Hearts Project, Studio Visit Book Vol. 1, the online publication Outback Arthouse and in the Canyon Community Connector. Larsen was invited to exhibit as a visual artist for the Treefort Music Festival in Boise Idaho. She participated in the exhibition, recollected at the Garage Door Gallery in Incline Village, Nevada in 2022, a midway exhibition at the Sierra Nevada Tahoe gallery in 2021. Larsen also has produced several custom pieces for corporate collections as well as for individual collectors.
